Launching My New Website (v2)

I’ve just launched the brand new version of my personal site! After months of experimenting, redesigning, and rewriting, I’m excited to share a faster, more polished, and more personal space where I can showcase my work, projects, and thoughts.

I’m beyond excited to share something I’ve been working on for a long time — my brand new website (v2) is live!

Why I rebuilt the site

My old site did the job, but it didn’t reflect how I’d grown as a maker. I wanted a faster, cleaner, and more personal space where I can showcase projects, experiments, and notes as I learn.

What’s new

  • Homepage: pressure-styled heading, spotlight, subtle motion that feels alive.
  • Navigation: improved dropdowns and compact mobile nav.
  • Features: labs, table of contents, quick access.
  • Performance: optimized fonts and preload.

Design choices

I tried to balance aesthetics and readability: glassy cards, strong headings, and spacious layout.

Performance improvements

  1. Preloading key font assets.
  2. Code splitting big UI chunks.
  3. Smaller, self-contained components.

Accessibility

Accessibility is important. I aimed for keyboard navigation, color contrast, and readable sizes. Report issues at bugs@surajv5.in.
