What is security awareness?

You are at the heart of your organization and play a key role in keeping it safe against cyber attacks. Understand what it takes to be security conscious by walking through the most common attacks seen in the industry, and learn how to mitigate potential threats. Based on a report from IBM, human errors were the main reason for 95% of successful cyber attacks. The study concluded that people are the main threat to the security of a business. Being more security-aware will significantly help mitigate potential threats and risks to your organization.

Who is security awareness for?

Everyone! It's everyone's responsibility to be security-aware. No matter your role at your company, you could be a potential target for cyber criminals; especially given your access and knowledge inside your organization.

Why is security awareness important?

Security awareness is crucial because it helps individuals recognize and respond to potential threats. By understanding the risks and implementing best practices, employees can protect themselves and their organization from cyber attacks.

These days, Remote-work is very common due to COVID-19 effect. Most of the employees are working on their personal devices and it increases the risk of being a main or primary target of a cyber security attack.

Hackers are using various tactics, tools and methods to gain access to devices. A security breach can cost a company of billions of money - based on an online report. Average cost upto a billions of loss and the highest was $3.36 million (≈₹34.05 crore), it also damages the reputation and trust of customers and partners.

Security Awareness training should have counter skills to reduce the risks. A few of theme are:

  • Recognizing phishing attempts
  • Using strong, unique passwords
  • Keeping software up to date
  • Being cautious with email attachments and links
  • Understanding the importance of data privacy
